Packed, but very fulfilling day of exploration
This tour gives a busy but extremely fulfilling day, hitting most of the major cultural sites in the Yogyakarta reason. The Sultan’s Palace and Water Palace are both gorgeous, and the ancient ruins of Prambanan are a true wonder being restored in modern times. The versiom of the tour with dinner and the Ramayana ballet is also great. The buffet dinner was tasty and the overlook of Prambanan as you eat is unreal! Finally, you get to enjoy a unique and very interesting traditional performance art, with some particularly crazy fire effects.
This was my second tour with the Borobodur Sunrise company, after doing the titular Borobodur tour a few days prior, and this was also very well-organized. My driver Rafli was always eager to help with any issues and kept to a full but not rushed schedule, getting me where I needed to be ahead of time. Many thanks!

Amazing experience, organised very well
This is such a wonderful experience and organised so well. We had Bhimo collect us at our hotel and he was so accommodating even though we were late because our flight was delayed. We were brought to each location and shown exactly were to go. The temples were beautiful and our guide was very knowledgable with lots of interesting stories. When the sun set through the temples it was breathtaking. Bhimo was there to collect us straight away after the temples and brought us to dinner and brought us right to our table which had views of the temple at night. The buffet style food was delicious and very welcomed after all our walking at the temple. Once again Bhimo was there to get us as soon as we were finished and brought us directly to our seats for the Ballet. The ballet was amazing and luckily our guide had told us the storyline earlier so were able to follow along easily. Finally Bhimo brought us home and gave us lots of helpful tips for our travels along the way.
We did this trip straight after flying into Yogyakarta and were worried we would be too tired but it was organised so well, you are escorted around and simply can’t go wrong and everything was beautiful and interesting.

Fantastic tour and a great guide!
Everything about this tour was excellent from start to finish. The organization was flawless, the temple visit was fantastic, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations.
A special thank you to Bhimo, our driver, who truly made the day unforgettable. His English is excellent, he is very friendly, talkative, and great company. He did much more than just drive us, he accompanied us throughout the tour, showed us exactly where to go, explained everything, and made sure everything ran smoothly. We genuinely loved spending time with him.
We also received first-class tickets for the show and had amazing seats in the front row. The snacks and drinks provided during the performance were a lovely touch. The private temple tour was excellent, with a dedicated guide just for the two of us, followed by free time to explore at our own pace.
The dinner was another highlight of the evening. The buffet offered a huge variety of delicious food, and we had fantastic seats with a beautiful nighttime view of the temple. The atmosphere was amazing, and we would give the dinner top marks as well.
Everything was perfectly organized, and we enjoyed every second of it. Highly recommended, and special thanks again to Bhimo for making this such a wonderful experience!

Very enjoyable experience
Everything was very well organised from start to finish. Contact a day or so in advance, collection on time and then everything else worked like clockwork. Hanif was polite and informative, and ensured we were where we needed to be at exactly the right time, and the temple guide Kukuh was excellent with a huge knowledge and perfect English. We really enjoyed the ballet especially the section before the break which was spectacular! Overall a really enjoyable afternoon and evening for all the family! It’s worth paying the extra for the VIP ticket and access, it’s a lot of money but it does make the whole experience more relaxed and simpler, especially with kids.

I had a very comfortable and enjoyable time in Plambanan.
I booked this tour so I wouldn’t have to worry about the hassle of getting tickets or how to get back and forth to the Plan Banyan, and I was able to enjoy both the Plan Banyan ruins and the Ramayana performance, and it was a very good tour.
Although I didn’t specifically mention it, because I am Japanese, they arranged for a guide at Plambangan Temple who speaks Japanese, and although there were times when communication was difficult with my poor English, Bhimo talked with me about various things, and I was able to have a very enjoyable time on a trip where I was also lonely by myself.

A definite trip to take!
This was a brilliant trip and is a definite to go and see. Our your guide Bhimo was wonderful. He was really flexible with times and gave us advice on not only this trip but other things to do. He took us to the temple where we met up with a temple guide who was equally great and very knowledgeable.Thr buffet dinner was lovely- something for even the fussiest of eaters. We didn’t know what to expect from that ballet but so glad we chose that. The seats we had were amazing and the ballet was like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Outstanding.

Prambanan temple tour and Ramayana Ballet
The arrangements for pick up was done well and our driver Pras came on time and was very friendly and helpful. The guide that was arranged at Prambanan temple complex was very informative and even helped up to take some amazing photos. Dinner was good and the Ramayana ballet was good too

Fun evening
Great evening that was made even better by the guide/driver Hendra. He is a friendly man who by day cares for his farm and family. I didn’t have to be concerned with anything. He took care of everything, bringing me to all the various locations arranging everything and always at meeting locations when done.
The guide he arranged in Prambanan (included in price) was extremely knowledgeable, having been there for over 25 years. Dinner at nearby restaurant had a fantastic view of the lit-up temples at night.
The ballet/show was enjoyable and a good seat in 4th row up in VIP section.

Terrific sites and great tour leader!
Everything was perfect from beginning. Eko met us at our hotel and got us safely through the crazy traffic of Yogykarta. Upon reaching Prambanan temple he escorted us in and made sure we were in good hands with a great private guide (Joni). After our 2 hour tour of this amazing temple (and the 3 adjoining Buddhist temples) we met up with Eko again. He drove us to dinner and again escorted us in until he was sure we were safely seated. He explained all the foods in the buffet to us which was very helpful. The food was quite good. And he took a few great pictures of us with the Prambanan temple in the back. Then he escorted us to the show and saw us up our seats. The show was excellent even though we couldn’t really follow it (it was colorful, good dancing, and a great backdrop of the temple). After the show Eko was right there to meet us and safely get us back to our hotel. And Ekos English was great which made it much easier for us. All in all, a WONDERFUL afternoon and evening!

Absolutely Unforgettable!
I can’t say enough great things about this company and the guides they have. Faiq was incredible, he was so kind, timely, shared so many facts about the places we visited, and most of all made us feel safe and welcome. The Prambanan experience and the ballet is something I will never forget, in fact I’m getting teary eyed just writing this and thinking about how magical it was. Having a guide made everything so easy and stress free, it’s quite a drive out there from the city and quite a large complex, so it was so nice to have someone who knew exactly where to go and what to do. Huge time saver not having to figure it all out.
I just couldn’t recommend it more. We never would have gotten as much out of it on our own, all the history and stories and specific parts of the temple that were shown to us were incredible; we would have missed so much without a guide. And the ballet is a must to end your evening, it takes the experience to a whole new level. Plus dinner overlooking the temple at night was just to die for.
If I ever come back to Jogja I will absolutely use this company again, and hope that Faiq is still doing tours with them! Faiq even made sure to do little special things for us, like stopping to let us try some traditional Jogja cookies when he learned we hadn’t had any yet. So nice!
Side note: I’d just like to add that we did an additional tour with this company the next day, during which I fell ill unfortunately (chronic stuff, nothing to do with the area or food etc.) and Faiq, our guide, helped us out SO much. I quite literally don’t know what we would have done without him in that situation. He took us to a hospital for checkup, helped with all the language barriers there, helped us navigate the entire situation, waited for us to be done there, and even took us by a market afterwards to get some much needed recovery items. None of which he had to do, it was incredibly kind. Then he messaged me the next day to make sure I was doing okay. Faiq and this tour company went above and beyond in so many ways, I couldn’t be more grateful, but being there for us in a moment of desperation/vulnerability was just a whole other level. If you’re looking to book some tours around Jogja don’t hesitate to book with them, you will be so well taken care of. Thank you Faiq and Borobudur Sunrise! You’re all amazing!

Temple + Dinner + Show = a great day
First we were visiting the prambanan temple area. There our guide explained very good everything about the Main temple Rara Jonggrang (Hindu).
Also our driver Pras makes very good pictures and helped us a lot to fix that nice momories on photos.
The second stop was dinner at a restaurant up the hill. From there you have a good overview of yogyakarta and especially also the prambanan temple area (so we had luck that the usual restaurant at the temple was already booked out).
The last stop was the wonderful ballet interpretation of Ramanaya. The synopsys of that were us already explained by your tour guide at the first stop (big thanks again). Ofcours its possible to download the synopsis after entering the theatre via QR code. The ballet was magnificently staged. (From my opinion the Main charater is Hanuman)
So finally to make a review, it was a great day.
Hiya –
This tour is a must when in Yogyakarta.
I went to the Prambanan Temple to see the sunset and then dinner at a restaurant on a hill overlooking Prambanan followed by the Ramayana Ballet. I had a fabulous time. The guide is excellent. He grew up around Prambanan and used to play amongst the ruins when he was a child so he knows every rock that is there. I thought I was going to have buffet at the theater before the show but the package is for me to have dinner at a fancy restaurant on top of a hill overlooking the temple. That is a nice surprise. The ballet is a must. The costumes and that it is set right in front of the temple is unforgettable. When they say VIP seating, they mean it. My seat is almost the middle seat in front of the stage. My driver, Youss, is also easygoing and friendly. He also took a lot of photos for me. Highly recommend this tour.
